It is her first lead role on television and Surveen Chawla is naturally excited. She plays Kaajal in the Sony serial of the same name. "Kaajal is genuinely bubbly and not crying buckets in every episode," says Surveen. The actress from Chandigarh was first seen in Ekta Kapoor's Kahin To Hoga and then Kasauti Zindagi Kay.

Coming to her character, she plays an RJ in a local radio station in Mussoorie. "Her father is a school principal and she has lost her mother. She has simple dreams. She wants to meet the man of her dreams. But when she meets one, he doesn't quite turn out to be Mr Right," she adds. Apoorva Agnihotri is cast alongside her. Kaajal is also shown to have an interesting relationship with Lord Ganesha. He is her friend, confidante and guide.

With two-and-a-half years in the industry, Chawla, who has had no formal training in acting, has done quite well for herself with two serials and one title role."Yes, I have been very fortunate to have done whatever I have done so far. Right now all my energies are focused on Kaajal. I can't think of anything else at this point and I want to do this to the best of my abilities. I want to see how people react to my character and this show," she says.
